Tuéda reserve

At the heart of this nature reserve, Lac de Tuéda reveals a protected and easily accessible natural setting from the Méribel-Mottaret snow front.

This emblematic 3 to 5 kilometers around the lake this almost levelless trail leads you through a unique territory home to frogs, newts and majestic limber pines. In summer and winter alike, the 4x4 stroller-friendly trail leads to the picnic area and fishing pontoon.

Along your route, discover the reserve house open for visits, as well as the Buvette de Tuéda, which welcomes you throughout the seasons. It’s the meeting place for fishermen and walkers. Treat yourself to a delicious break by the lake. In a stunning setting, between the gentle murmur of the water and the beauty of the mountains, don’t leave without tasting the must-try blueberry tart. A warm and authentic moment not to be missed!

The Rosière trail

Between Méribel center and Méribel-Mottaret, this summer walk through forest and glade is ideal for young children. La easy 3-kilometre loop with very little difference in altitude, takes you into a shady world dotted with fun zones where little adventurers spontaneously play at being explorers!

The abundant local flora accompanies your steps and educational panels enrich your family's discovery. Your budding hikers become real little botanists for the duration of an outing.

The perfect route for all-terrain baby carriages lets you discover the natural riches of our mountains in a gentle, serene way, without tears or fatigue!

The ridges to the Col de la Lune

This panoramic walk on the ridges leads you to the Col de la Lune, accessible to sporty families with children aged 6 and over and in summer. The hike starts from the top of the Tougnète lifts (gondola followed by a chairlift).

The 5 to 6 kilometer partial-loop route has a low gradient and offers you spectacular views of the Méribel valley and the Alps.

Beaconing guides you safely to the belvedere, where picnic tables invite you to take a gourmet break.

Keep your eyes peeled: birds of prey and marmots inhabit these heights and can sometimes surprise you.

Vanoise National Park: Lac des Fées

This enchanting alpine lake awaits you in summer, starting from the Tuéda car park, accessible via the nature reserve, but not with a standard pushchair. Your route of approximately 8 kilometres (loop or round trip, depending on your preference) takes you up a moderate 350-metre climb, suitable for families with children who are already used to walking, for a summer stroll in the mountains.

The lake's crystal-clear waters reflect the surrounding peaks, while marmots and chamois roam their natural habitat. The alpine flora displays its colours throughout the seasons, creating a fascinating living tableau. Please note that this trail is not suitable for standard pushchairs.

USEFUL INFO: Bring a picnic to enjoy by the water, but leave your swimsuit at home, as swimming is prohibited.

This winter breakaway begins from the Méribel-Mottaret snow front and takes you to the Tuéda lake reserve.

Your walk to the Mures Rouges chairlift wakes up your muscles before the mechanical ascent. Once you've reached the foot of Mont Vallon,le Plan des Mains high-altitude restaurant welcomes you with its mountain specialities, for a well-deserved gourmet break!

The Mont Vallon gondola then lifts you to the summits, revealing breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-covered 3 Valleys.

Your descent via the Plan des Mains chairlift, then the Plattières gondola, completes this exceptional family day out.

These demanding itineraries are designed for very sporty families or for children who are very experienced in the mountains.These routes take you to some of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alpswhere only experienced walkers can access the hidden treasures of our peaks.

The lakes of Mont Coua

This major alpine summer hike takes you on a discovery tour of several high-altitude lakes in a striking mineral setting.

The round trip from 16 kilometers from Plan Ravet parking lot with 900 metres of ascent requires a certain level of skill: technical passages and a duration of 6 to 8 hours await you!

Your reward? A magical chain of 6 crystal-clear lakes. Edelweiss and martagon lilies adorn these heights with their rare colors, while chamois and ibex sometimes appear at first light.

Important information: Dogs are not allowed in this protected area of the national park.

The Loze pass

This emblematic climb, accessible in summer and winteroffers 360° views of the Alps and Mont Blanc.

In winter, ski lifts make it easy to get to the top, while in summer, trails and bike paths take you to the summit. The loop or round trip from 8 kilometers with 600 meters of ascent starts with a steady climb from the Altiport, through forest, then majestic ridges.

You can also reach Lac Bleu on the Courchevel side. Either way, your gaze will take in the breathtaking panorama of the Méribel valley, Courchevel and Grande Casse.

A natural extension of a previously mentioned walk to the Col de la Lune, this summer itinerary combines ascents and crests between two passes.

This loop 13 kilometers with 900 meters of ascent requires 6 to 7 hours of walking. The sections on ridges and exposed passages require good mountain progress, with poles strongly recommended (your knees will thank you)!

A successful family outing requires careful preparation, especially for your little walkers. Choose your hike according to the age of your children, their usual level of fitness and the weather conditions. In winter, opt for short walks in stable weather.

In terms of equipment, take along the essentials:

Which walks are accessible with baby carriages?

Tuéda reserve is a trail perfectly suited to 4x4 baby carriages, with virtually no gradient and 3 to 5 kilometers of easy loops. The Rosière trail is also suitable for all-terrain baby carriages, thanks to its shady 3-kilometre forest trail. These two itineraries guarantee you a serene outing with your little ones.

Which trails are best suited to young children?

The Rosière trail remains your best ally with its natural play areas. Tueda reserve with its picnic area, fishing pontoon and educational houses. These short, varied routes keep the attention of young walkers while offering them discovery and moments of play.

What's the best place to spot marmots and other alpine wildlife?

Vanoise National Park the Lac des Fées and the Refuge du Saut in particular offer some of the most beautiful encounters you'll ever have. Marmots like to come out in the early hours of the morning, while chamois and ibex move about in their natural habitat. The crests of the Col de la Lune also offer excellent opportunities for observing raptors and high-altitude wildlife

Is it possible to walk with a dog around the Méribel ski resorts?

This depends entirely on your destination. The Loze pass dogs are allowed on a leash, unlike at the Mont Coua lakes, where they are prohibited in the protected area of the National Park. Always check local regulations before setting off, as rules vary from one area to another, depending on the protection status of the natural areas crossed.

How do I get to the trailheads quickly without a car?
